Winnipeg Harvest announces $6.5 Million Building Renewal and Expansion Campaign
At Winnipeg Harvest we operate food sharing and training programs in 30,000 square feet of space. Due to the increased need within the community we serve, we now require a total of 55,000 square feet of space to provide the training, educational and support services needed to help reduce food bank use and empower our clients while continuing to respond to the current demands.
Canada-Manitoba Infrastructure Programs has supported our needs with funding in the amount of $1,666,667 from each level of Government.
Winnipeg Harvest is grateful for the support of the Canada-Manitoba Infrastructure Programs, and the generous individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations who have already contributed to this Campaign.
Winnipeg Harvest needs additional support from the community to complete the project.
"We want to do better! Better skills and life training, and better sharing of food throughout Manitoba, are the foundation for a future without poverty in our province," David Northcott, Executive Director, Winnipeg Harvest. "This enhanced and renewed facility located at our current address will provide the tools we need to fight hunger and feed hope."
